An orange, cast glass rose glass pendant with a necklace of peach fresh water pearls. The rose diameter is 4-4.5cm with a sterling silver pendant bail, the pearl necklace is approximately 18" long and has a sterling silver clasp. The rose is made using the the lost wax method of glassmaking a technique used by Lalique to make his early pieces. This involves making the model of the rose in wax, a mould is then made over the wax model and the wax is melted out of the mould. The cavity is now filled with glass and the mould is then placed in the kiln and taken to a casting temperature. On removal from the kiln the mould is carefully chipped away to reveal the glass flower.
