We opened the Connell and Hart gallery in Gresham House, Corbridge in march 2007. Twenty years experience working with glass has enabled us to select a stunning collection of hand blown glass by the UK's leading studio glassmakers' including work by Malcolm Sutcliffe, Julia Linstead, Stuart Akroyd, Roger Tye, Sanders and Wallace, Graham Muir, Nikki Williams, Twists, Will Shakspeare, Paul Barcroft, Loco, Ian Hankey and Bob Crooks.
The gallery is also a showcase for our Crystal Imprints and fingerprint jewellery as well as our distinctive ranges of kiln cast jewellery, clocks and interior pieces which are created using the Pate de Verre and Lost Wax method of glass casting, a method pioneered by Lalique. Initial impressions for Crystal Imprints can be taken in the gallery, there is no need to make an appointment if we're open.
As well as UK Studio glass the gallery has a variety of work from other UK makers', decorative and functional ceramics by Mark Haillay, jewellery by Sue Shaw, Jed Green and Pure Fabrication, ceramic and bronze animal sculptures by John Hine and Paul Jenkins, special gifts for children from Maxine Pharoah and Hartrups Botique, Witches' Balls and hand made cards. All of the items in the gallery are hand made in the U.K.
It is easy to find - if you are in the village square facing the church, Watling Street is the street to your left. Our gallery is about half way along it Watling Street in the building with pointed gables.
We are open Tuesday - Friday 10.30am - 5.00pm, Saturday 10.00am - 5.00pm, tel. 01434 634898, we are closed on Sunday and Monday but may be able to open for Crystal Imprint appointments please contact us if you want to make an appointment.
Corbridge which is a pretty village full of small independant shops, cafes and pubs situated in the Tyne Valley just off the A69 & A68 approximately 2 miles from Hexham and 17 miles west of Newcastle.
